WHY HONEYBEES?
Beekeepers have fun doing something they enjoy, and commune with nature. Beekeeping is a great way to relax.
Joining MWBA gives members a discount to the beekeeping magazine to: American Bee Journal.  http://www.dadant.com And Beeculture magazine. http://www.beeculture.com  Members also tour honey producers and other beekeeping operations to see the current state of  beekeeping in the area. The association is also a good connection to other regional, state and national beekeeping organizations. The club plans workshops, attends regional and other meetings, and plans special activities.
Beekeeping is a great way to study the relationship between plants and insects, harvest locally gathered honey, and be involved in a simple low-tech hobby with a tradition of thousands of years.
Beekeeping can be practiced by people of any age, and can take as much or as little time as you want to put into it. In addition to honey, there are other hive products that can be harvested, including beeswax, propolis, royal jelly, and pollen. Honeybees are also used for pollination of flowers and food crops, and apitherapy.

Note: Banners and Pop-up ads are not sponsored by the MWBA.
